LOCOS

Welcome to
Inverurie Locomotive Works Football Club

Inverurie Locomotive Works Football Club was founded in 1902 by employees of the Great North of Scotland Railway Company at a meeting convened in the Railway Works Hall on Constitution Street. The Railway Company transferred its maintenance operations from Kittybrewster in Aberdeen to Inverurie between 1898 and 1905.

THE RAILWAYMEN

The colours of Inverurie Locos are red and black.  Originally hoops, often stripes, with some variations along the way – but from 1902 to the present day – RED AND BLACK.  These colours symbolise the fire and coal which powered the locomotives which were built and maintained by the Great North of Scotland Railway Company in the town’s Locomotive Works.
