HERE’S JONNY

Jonny Smith has re-joined Inverurie Locos as the Andy Low rebuild continues at pace. The big popular Englishman has previously been at Wigan Athletic, Aberdeen, Halifax Town, Peterhead, Keith, Cove Rangers & departs from Formartine Utd to come back to Harlaw Park.

Jonny played thirty four games for the Locos previously, with a cruel serious injury in his third outing for the Club seeing the player miss virtually a whole campaign. Season 2019/20 saw Jonny net eight times from nineteen appearances.

Taking a moment out of a very busy week, Andy Low remarked: “Bringing Jonny back to club was always something I was looking to do if the opportunity arose. I am delighted to be able to agree a deal that sees him join us immediately which I thought was really important.

I felt the squad needed more of a goal threat, and with the addition of Sam & now Jonny, I feel we have done just that. On top of that, Jonny brings real quality in his all-round play, experience, presence and a confidence to the changing room that I felt was lacking at times. He has won the majority (if not all) of the medals that there is to win in the Highland League, but more importantly, he has the drive to push for more.

There was a bit of unfinished business the last time around when he left, and I see the motivation he has to make this a real success. I look forward to seeing him back scoring goals and shining at Harlaw Park”.
