Inverurie Loco Works FC can confirm that our Club Captain Greg Mitchell has penned an extended deal that takes the popular local man through to at least the summer of 2028. Locos fan Greg joined us in the summer of 2013 and had a scoring debut at Strathspey Thistle (as did Dean Donaldson on the same day). Greg has 331 Railwaymen appearances, and has netted 21 times. 2017/18 saw the player play every minute of every competitive match (a feat only achieved by three outfield players in the senior era).

Commenting on the Captain’s contract, Manager Dean Donaldson sdaid: “Greg is a local boy, loved by all the fans and his team mates so obviously we are delighted that he has chosen to sign on again. We have missed him since he sustained his injury, and we are all hoping he can get back fit and well, ready to be a key contributor next season. He will also have a pivital role as a senior, experienced player, to guide, encourage and develop our exciting group of young footballers. He is very vocal, always demanding the best from his colleagues on the park, and this is something we have been lacking this term. Greg has been assisting with the coaching at Harlaw Park and is just the right type of lad that you need at your club. Greg is a really good player but he has a lot more to him than just that so we are delighted to get his signature again. Good luck to Greg going forward”.
